ABOUT DIVERSIFY NZ
Clarity, courage and change — grounded in experience.
Pip Patston is a strategic adviser, facilitator, governance leader and social-change practitioner with more than four decades of experience across diversity, disability, human rights, leadership and systems change.

Different by design
Trained and practised in counselling, social work, leadership, and social and creative entrepreneurship, Pip has spent a lifetime noticing how assumptions shape what people believe is possible. His work combines living experience of being disabled and gay, strategic insight, business judgement, facilitation and humour—making room for ideas that are both courageous and workable. Pip will support you and your team or community to take a closer look and make useful changes.
Strategic perspective
See patterns, tensions and choices within complex systems—and translate them into a clear direction.
Inclusive leadership
Create conditions where difference becomes an asset, participation is meaningful and people can contribute fully.
Trusted facilitation
Hold challenging conversations with warmth, candour and enough structure to move from reflection to action.
Governance and advice
Bring independence, curiosity and practical judgement to boards, panels, leadership teams and public initiatives.
Public voice
Communicate complex and contested ideas clearly through media, speaking, writing and constructive provocation.
Human at heart
Balance social conscience and business sense with authenticity, intuition, creativity and intelligent humour.
Experience that crosses boundaries
Pip has spent a lifetime noticing how assumptions shape what people believe is possible. His work combines living experience of uniqueness, strategic insight, business judgement, facilitation and humour—making room for ideas that are both courageous and workable.
